For those of you wondering who is getting their referral bonuses, instead of the intended party, I was trading referrals using the buddy system, and clicking on the same poster’s links on a daily basis, but suddenly stopped getting any referrals. I spoke with one of the admins and they told me that you can not coordinate your links with another poster. That practice was stopped awhile ago. You can click on another person's links, you just can't be reciprocally linked and get the referral bonus. Maybe it still works some of the time for some. Maybe this info will help stop the confusion about where the referrals are going.

From admin; “Reciprocal links are disallowed. "user A can not be referee of user B if user B is referee of user A" Whenever it stopped is probably when they started enforcing that in code.”

So it’s best to spread them around and hope that you get some in return .
