I have the utmost respect for you and your opinions, MG.
Those feelings do not apply to the source of your story -- the Washington Post. As the article points out, Khashoggi wrote for them.

The killing of Khashoggi, a Saudi citizen who had been living in Virginia and who wrote columns for The Washington Post, has become one of the most consequential foreign policy crises of Trump’s presidency.

Just because they think it's a crisis doesn't make it so.

They talk about morality and how we should impose our point of view on the world. Funny. They are part of the low life, libtard presstitutes whose mission is to destroy Trump and move this country to the dictatorial, socialist rule of the demorrhoids. They have no credibility with me. They seem to be promoting their own interests... vengeance for one of their own. Bet they didn't do any similar squawking after Benghazi by condemning the grand hildebeest and our first affirmative action president for their failure to act.

This statement reiterates what was in the NY Post piece that believes jeopardizing our relationship with Saudi Arabia will strengthen Iran. I see the logic in that. FWIW, Dershowitz is a liberal Democrat.

Retired Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz, who speaks frequently with Trump about the Middle East, said that while the president needs to take a tougher stand with the Saudis, he should not jeopardize his relationship with the kingdom over Khashoggi’s killing.

“The president sees strength as having enormous influence over events,” Dershowitz said. “He can’t terminate the Saudi relationship. That would not be a show of strength.”...

One of Trump’s motivations to protect the Saudis is the kingdom’s position as a bulwark against Iran, a point he has stressed in private deliberations but has raised only sporadically publicly.

“I think it’s a very important ally for us. Especially when you have Iran doing so many bad things in the world, it’s a good counterbalance to the world,” Trump said of Saudi Arabia in the Post interview. “They’re probably laughing at this situation as they see it. Iran is as evil as it gets.”

As far as moaning that money is behind all of this, the WaPo needs to wake up and smell the cocoa. The whole middle east morass is all about money and oil. There's nothing else that drives our being there. Always been like that. Always will be. If that weren't true, we would have cut them off and let them kill each other... which would work for me.

Once no one is left standing, there will be peace in the middle east.
Until then... business as usual.

JMO. Worth absolutely nothing.
