Theres a ole song from the 1970's i think..."Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die". Is it a safe bet to say...that everyone...somewhere within us...we really do want to live as long as we can here on planet earth...i mean...believers often say they are ready to go home...to heaven...and they say oh come now sweet Jesus...but then when we get sick...we get to the doctors as quick as we can and do whatever we can to live as long as we can...am i right? A good many folks try and exercise...eat right...do all these pro active things to squeeze a few more years out of their lives but at the same time...they are ready to die..so they think?...Interesting! With that said...another reality of life...for anyone reading this...the chances of any of us being here 100 years from now are slim to none. That means at some point in eternity...all of us are going to have a moment when we stand before God and what we have done with Jesus Christ in this life will determine our eternal destiny. Its a sobering thought that all of us must deal with the issues of life...death...and eternity. But that thought...that decision..of accepting Jesus as Lord or not...is the most important decision we will ever make while in these earthly bodies. Perhaps youve already made the decision to follow Christ and your certain of your eternal destiny. Or...maybe your on the fence today...unsure of what God is going to say on that day...or...maybe you know for a fact that you are not saved? Heres some truth for you...you can know today where you will spend eternity. If you believe Jesus died for you and you know that your salvation is based on what Jesus did on the cross in dying for you...and you have surrendered your life to Him...eternal life isnt a matter of speculation...heaven is your eternal home! If you dont have a personal relationship with Jesus...you are still living life your way...your forever home will be hell....Please...dont go another day without trusting in Jesus to save you from your sins. Believe in Him today and youll never live apart from God!
