I think i can safely say this morning that there are two main themes...so to speak...of the Bible...and that is salvation and love. And the two of them go hand and hand. This morning however i want to think about love in its own little box...if you will. Gods love for us...our love for God and our love for other people. The Bible tells us that we who are followers of Jesus...and knowing that we are not capable of loving just like God...but...we should be just as much in love with each other as God was in love with us when He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross. And just as much in love with each other as Jesus loved us to die such a horrific death to provide us a way to heaven! I say that because as believers...we are part of the body of Christ...and...we have that same Godly love in us by way of the Holy Spirit living in us...that makes it possible to love with a God like love...a sacrificial love...right. To think...here we had our Creator...the God of the universe...the One that sustains our life every breath of every day...and look at the awesome sacrificial love He had and has for us to do such a thing as to lay down His life that we might live...forever! You see...the moment we came to Christ...Scripture says...God gave us a supernatural love that fills our hearts. The greatest demonstration of the fact that we are born-again believers is that we love one another just as Christ loves us! Why not go out of our way to be a friend to someone whose skin is a different color from ours? To reach out to the homeless...the less fortunate...those with addictions...single parents...the hopeless and helpless. To share the kind of love we have for our family with everybody! Everybody means everybody and everybody needs love...Christ centered love! Love does more to solve the worlds problems than anything else does. Of all the gifts God offers His children...love is the greatest. Of all the fruits of the Holy Spirit...love is the first. How do we let the light of Jesus shine from us....LOVE!
