Market Capitalization: The number of shares of a company times the price per share = the market capitalization. It is a method of quickly calculating a company's 'worth.' For example, ABC with 1 million outstanding shares at $2 each has a market cap of $2 million. If those shares dropped to $1.50, the market cap would drop to $1.5 million.
