REED - >>> Background -- Mr. Valentin M. Stalowir, also known as Val, has been the Chief Executive Officer of Reed's, Inc. since June 28, 2017. Previously, Mr. Stalowir was a Partner at Apta Capital LLC. A 25-year veteran of the food and beverage industry, Mr. Stalowir has a proven track record of driving accelerated growth and building category-leading brands. He specializes in food, beverage and consumer products investments. Prior to joining Apta Capital, he was an Executive Partner at Emigrant Capital, where Mr. Stalowir was an active board member of the firm's food and beverage investments. He served as Chief Executive Officer of privately held International Harvest, Inc. Mr. Stalowir has extensive leadership experience in sales, marketing, new product development and operations. He has helped steer the growth and development of large global brands at Quaker Oats, Coca-Cola and Yum! Brands in addition to more emerging consumer brands that include Boylan Bottling, Detour Bar and Zola Acai. In 2011, Mr. Stalowir founded Global Restaurant Group, LLC and served as its Chief Executive Officer until September 2014. From 2002 to 2010, he was Chief Executive Officer of Preferred Brand Holdings, LLC. His career also includes leading brand expansion into international markets as well as private equity experience with a focus on the food and beverage sectors. He has a distinguished record of leading branded businesses through accelerated growth, market expansion and sustainable category leadership. Mr. Stalowir has led varied initiatives ranging from start-ups, acquisitions and joint ventures to business turnarounds and divestitures. From 1999 to 2001, he was the President and ran Tomra Systems North America. Previously, Mr. Stalowir worked at Coca-Cola Co. for five years as a General Manager, driving the aggressive expansion of its Eastern European business. At Coca-Cola, he also oversaw the investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in capital, the building of three production facilities and 20 distribution centers all of which drove retail sales in his region from $5 million to over $250 million and secured clear market leadership. Mr. Stalowir also held various senior marketing, brand management and new product development roles at The Quaker Oats Company, Cap'n Crunch, Rice-A-Roni and Near East Foods. He serves as the Chairman of the Board Boylan Bottling Co. and Forward Foods, LLC. Mr. Stalowir has been the Director of Reed's, Inc. since June 28, 2017. He has been a Director of The Jolt Company, Inc. since 2006. He serves as Director of Boylan's Bottling Company and Amazon Preservation Partners, Inc. Mr. Stalowir was the Vice Chairman of Latex Foam Int'l and has also served on several boards in connection with his Presidency of Tomra Systems North America. Mr. Stalowir holds an M.B.A. degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of Michigan in 1990 and a B.A. degree in Economics and Art History from the College of William and Mary in 1985.
