Well, there's real and then there's real in pennyland, As for SMEV, I believe Matthews obtained the entity, probably because Frenkel didn't want stock attributed to her as part of her bankruptcy.
Now does that mean he has a product? Time will tell. Some of the technology mentioned on the site is intriguing.
There are tons of companies that use stock photos on websites and tons that don't have what they claim, that also doesn't mean that they've hijacked an entity.
My opinion for now is the filings are legit, but we'll see if this company has some kinda grow system.
