Great article, This one really explains the significance of Klump joining the board. Does not sound like he is in this for the long haul, it sounds like he is in it to get a deal done. It's also good that mgmt. is pulling talent from the investor pool to fill in for what they lack in expertise. It is always better to get the right people rather than call upon yourself to do everything. This is my favorite quote from the article:

"The whole industry is only one drug approval away from billions in research going down the drain. All the current therapies in the pipeline become obsolete if this new entry inhibitor class of drugs can take root."


I have said this before, The fear of losing is stronger than the desire to win. Imagine how the quarterly Conf. call for any of the BP companies will go when investors ask why they did not take pro140 seriously and now lost huge market share. GILD has so much to lose, 44% of their revenue is from HIV. If any other BP buys pro140, the investors in GILD are going to want heads on a pike for missing this threat.
