If you buy a 3x fund and just hold it, what you say is true because of the up and downs in the market. But if the market is going up, the leverage of a 3x actually increases the gain vs holding a 1x fund.

In the case I am about to show, the gain difference is minor, but it proves the point none the less.

Open trade Jun28th 3pm (when I went long)
Close trade Yday close

TQQQ 56.76 to 65.60 = 5.19% (divided by 3 to get 1x gain)
QQQ 171.10 to 179.93 = 5.16%

Trade the Charts and not the Heart - Expect the trend to
continue until it doesn't - Realtime is the real deal
