?Passive Security Scan Inc. was formed to bring our ‘Passive Security Scan’ contraband detection system to market, to improve public safety with a system specifically designed for public and private schools, sports arenas, and other public venues. The ‘Passive Security Scan’ technology was developed in 2005 and has been continually improved upon with the newest technological advances. The ‘Passive Security Scan’ gateway is our newest model ready for production and for the market.
This patented product (US Patent: 7408461) utilizes the latest passive weapons sensing technology available today. Its sensors read the constantly changing local magnetic variations in the Earth’s magnetic field. The system creates a virtual “invisible curtain” for secure zone entrances. Due to the dynamic nature of Earth, the system self-calibrates to establish ambient baseline readings, readings that are distorted when weaponry or other contraband is present allowing for accurate detection of these items.
Passive Security Scan Inc. is a team of experts that have built relationships in our targeted markets spanning over 30 years, enabling the company to deal directly with the decision makers specific to the market. Management Team
President/CEO
Mr. Merrill W. Moses has a substantial professional executive background in technology, finance, energy production, and business. Mr. Moses has been the chief executive officer and board member of several public and private corporations and has extensive executive experience in bringing new technology products to market. Mr. Moses is also the Chief Executive Officer of Defense Technologies International Corp., our parent company, and has held this position since April 30, 2016. He served as President George W. Bush’s Honorary Chairman of the House Majority Trust as well as serving “with distinction” on the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Business Advisory Council” for the state of California. Mr. Moses graduated from Brigham Young University, majoring in finance and business in 1976.
Director
Mr. Charles Cortland "Cort" Hooper, brings a wealth of business experience and know-how to the Company. As a missile guidance engineer, Mr. Hooper lead a team in the designing and building missile guidance systems for the U.S. Army ground to air combat installations, and the Hawk and Nike missiles. Mr. Hooper is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles as a Systems Engineer. Mr. Hooper has a Master of Science Degree in Management from UCLA and the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School and did his doctorate work in Finance. Mr. Hooper had a distinguished career as an officer in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam war. Mr. Hooper will advise the company in regard to organizational structure, strategic planning and management and will serve on the Board to contribute to the overall management in the areas of finance, strategic planning, market development, and the value and strategy of the company in the securities markets.
Public Relations Director
Michele Mase, holds a Bachelor degree in Organizational Communications at Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida. She achieved a position on the Presidential Advisory Board for Heritage International, a direct sales company. Ms. Mase attained top leadership, breaking multiple sales records for Forever Green, of Provo, Utah. From 2009 to the present, Ms. Mase has been with Nu Skin Enterprises International where she reached the highest sales position within 6 months, breaking untold sales benchmarks. Ms. Mase is also a Commercial Pilot with well over 2000 hours of flight time for Ambrion Aviation out of Luton, England. Ms. Mase is a gifted public relations and sales representative with a very impressive record who will without a doubt turn the ‘Passive Security Scan’ into a household word across the United States and many other countries.
Marketing Director
Luke A. Hillbery was senior sales trainer for an Inc. 5000 company. Mr. Hillbery studied the foundations of engineering at the State College of Florida, achieving a 3.93 GPA. In 2010, he was part of a team placing bio-photonic scanners in a variety of medical practices through his father’s business. This involved much cold-calling and setting optimal sales meetings. Mr. Hillbery began working for a sales franchise thereafter and then took over a managerial role, where he recruited, trained, and managed teams of sales people. In January 2017, Mr. Hillbery relocated to Austin, Texas, working as a senior sales trainer for another Inc. 5000 company. He has established many connections in the school sales industry as well as with general sales people, mentors and trainers. Mr. Hillbery holds tri-citizenship and has trusted contacts in the USA, UK and Australia. Mr. Hillbery joined Passive Security Scan Inc. in a full time position as the Marketing Director.
Business Advisor
Mr. Frank Thorwald has extensive professional experience in the protection technology sectors and in government. He has served as Special Assistant and Acting National Security Advisor to U.S. Attorney Generals, as senior advisor to the Attorney General's Task Force on Family Violence and Protecting Our Children, and as Director of Public Affairs for the President's Task Force on Victims of Crime. Mr. Thorwald has also served as an advisor to the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense and as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary and Executive Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education. Mr. Thorwald is Managing Director of the Thorwald Group, a firm specializing in government relations, investment, and trade development advisory services. Mr. Thorwald serves on several corporate boards of directors. Active in public service, Mr. Thorwald serves as Commissioner of the Arizona Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, is a former commissioner of the Arizona Commerce and Economic Development Commission and former Chairman of the Arizona Employers Advisory Council state board. He was also a part member of the Arizona Governor's Council on Workforce Policy.
Technology Advisor
Mr. Rick Fluck is the CEO and founder of Controlled Capture Systems, LLC, a company that provides engineering design services for proof-of-concept prototypes and production ready products, for small and medium sized business and government research labs. He is US Navy trained in nuclear electronics and systems, with over 30 years of experience in project management, software and hardware design, and product design engineering. Mr. Fluck’s professional expertise includes electronics and firmware design, artificial intelligence programming and training, machine vision systems design, data acquisition systems design, and robotics systems design. Mr. Fluck is the inventor and designer of the Passive Security Scan walk-through systems.
Production Manager
Mr. Dave Corey, Managing Partner of the San Diego County based design and manufacturing firm, Edge-Tech Design. Mr. Corey has over 18 years of product design and production experience. He has a unique passion for designing and building products, which he started to do in a garage in 1998. Mr. Corey is well experienced in Plastic part design, Mold design, Industrial design, Engineering, Prototype, Quick turn, and Manufacturing. He served as Senior Engineer at Icon Aircraft, Shelby America, Votec Corporation as well as many other companies in such disciplines as biomedical, automotive, consumer electronics.

How safe are your Schools and Universities?
Over the last five years there has been a marked increase in violent crime at elementary, secondary and university school levels. The National Crime Victimization Survey reported “students ages 12-18 were victims of about 1.5 million nonfatal crimes while they were at school.”
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, from 2006-2008, there were nearly 2,000 homicides, 1,500 suicides and 50 violent deaths of children ages 5-18 at schools. These statistics come from reported incidents; there are any number of crimes that go unreported. Passive Security Scan can positively impact these numbers.
