Print a chart of a stock you like and put it in a drawer and revisit it in 6 months. I've done this many times.
I don't know if it's self fulfilling or showing the inside trades in advance, but the trend is definitely your friend.
Like electricity, I don't need to know how it works to turn on a lamp.
