Your allusion to 'their truths' and 'my truths', as though there are different kinds of truth, is the heart of the dissonance that occurs in these forums.

The reality is, there is only one version of the truth. There has only ever been one, there will only ever be one. The other major part of the reality is that no one here knows what that truth is. Everyone has an opinion but no one KNOWS.

The truth by its very nature is not positive and it is not negative, it is not influenced by opinion nor is it open for debate. It is unassailable. No amount of dour negativity will drag it down, conversely no amount of boistrous exhilaration will pump it up.

For some the search for truth requires a surgical elimination of all of the emotional baggage that surrounds, and therefore clouds the issue at hand. For others the search is threatening, as it might uncover the weaknesses in their own personal paradigms. [Interestingly both camps will identify with this paragraph in the same way, identifying themselves on one side and their opponents on the other.]

My agenda here, is not and never will be the issue. Truth is not held hostage by 'agenda'. Truth is still truth no matter who speaks it, friend or foe, genius or cretin, criminal or saint.

Truth is discovered by asking questions. Questions are answered with facts, not personal attacks or questioned motives. Anyone who is threatened by questions is significantly lacking in self confidence.
