They were already screwed by the FDA with the halt, as you describe - and that story should scare the hell out of everyone. So, how really effective they are is up to debate. I do agree they bring at least some value with their D.C. connections and political experience - that's also true (if not more so) of Linda's husband.

I heard that at some point before, they had one nay-sayer in the FDA on their review team who subsequently quit the FDA and went to work for a competitor.

FWIW, I also heard that this CofI was one of or maybe the main reason for the enrollment hold,

Big Pharma is one of the largest and most powerful lobbies in D.C.. That's why Linda and Les really need to either sell the company or at least enter into a significant JV with a partner that has some influence and can provide cover. In other words, align themselves with one of the Big Pharma players that will act as their big brother. In fact, selling the company is the bet I'm making.

And please note that is totally different from what you are discussing where somebody with a very easy to prove CofI gets involved now and tries to block their regulatory progress. Les and Linda are both Washington insiders. If you think for a minute they don't know the basics of how to deal with the FDA and prevent getting screwed like that, then imho it would be foolish for you to own this stock, 'cause dealing with the govt is supposed to be the biggest value those guys bring to the table. (btw I've also heard that Les had enough to do with getting RTT through that he was invited to go watch Trump sign it, but he declined to go because he's a dem. imo he should have gone anyway and then posted photos of himself there for the publicity.)
