Why is it important to offer a smile to everyone we come into contact with? And why should we take the time to give a handshake, hug or kind word every opportunity we have? Whats the reason we need to lend a listening ear to folks that are troubled and shouldnt we be taking the time to lift others up and encourage them when we see that look of worry, dread or despair on their face. And even when we are busy...why do we need to stop and take the time and offer to pray with folks that are hurting and offer a helping hand if need be? As we know...there is so much hurt, worry and sorrow in the world and the things i just mentioned is all part of the responsibility and should be the desire of every child of God! We all as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ do those things...Right? And im not just talking about reaching out to those that meet our approval...so to speak...or just the people we know. Im talking about reaching out to everyone from the person living on the street...people that have not had the opportunities that others have...the so called rough and scruffy looking. Im talking about the people that most folks dont give a second glance at because in their eyes its just not worth their precious time but Jesus would tell us...and does tell us...thats who we need to be ministering to...every single lost and dying person that is headed to hell...and...to the hurting who dont seem to have a friend in the world...just as Jesus did! Nothing is more important than the way we love God and the way we show love to others...after all Jesus said the most important commandment is to "love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and to love others as ourselves"! As the ole sayin goes...do we just "talk the talk or do we also walk the walk". Folks...Nothing can motivate a lost sinner like the heartfelt love of Jesus Christ shining from us consistently each and everyday! And nothing can put a smile on another persons face quicker than letting them see that someone really does care about them...yep...even and especially someone that they dont even know. Remember...everyone is fighting some kind of a battle in their life. Some more than others! Let the love and light of Jesus shine from us each and everyday...why...because we need to live in such a way that everyone looks at us and says at some point in their life..."I want what they got"...and that be Jesus!
