It goes back to the House of Commons next week. They can go to third reading and it passes and then becomes law.

However, a lot of the amendments are ridiculous so what is more likely is they reject some amendments and then that bill goes to Senate.

PM has days it will get done this summer so they will likely limit debate, force extended sittings and refuse to allow summer recess (vacation) until it is done. The Canadian Senate is unelected so they have never refused the will of the elected house. That would be unheard of. So it will pass.

Last time this happened Senate caved in a week cuz they want to get home.

Timeframes? Everyone wants to be back home by July 1st. Québécois by June 24th so that would be the timeline I would look to. After senate passes the house would do so likely in an afternoon.

The biggest hurdle has passed it is unstoppable now so no one is going to go to the mat. They will put on a symbolic resistance.

Hope that helps.
