This statement reflects relative ignorance of how cannabis can affect various medical problems.
It is only partly true. Some medical issues respond quite well to CBD-only treatment. Other medical problems respond to treatment with combinations of CBD and THC, the most effective concentrations of each major cannabinoid varying from disease to disease. This is where research is badly needed, research which is stymied by the current Federal classification of cannabis.
But, as with most drugs, natural cannabinoids are more effective and have fewer unnecessary side effects than synthetically derived elements. Go to any medical cannabis dispensary and you will see the myriad of CBD and THC percentage concentrations available in the multitude of strains offered from high THC strains to high CBD strains to naturally derived tinctures, oils and topicals.
It is the diversity of naturally grown cannabis that can offer the full range of effective treatments that are required by so many medical conditions that the one size fits all approach of synthetically derived cannabinoids cannot begin to address.
