April 9--Rain in the morning. Chilly. Some wind. I wore layers on the walk to the farm. My enthusiasm wasn't there. I dug a little, piddled around, then sat down. Around 10:30 I noticed the clouds were lifting. By 11 it was partly sunny, so I got on the bus to Wal Mart for a bag of Tomato-tone.
I put in 6 of the oldest Cherokee Purple tomato starts in the boxes closet to the street. While doing so I removed all my layers and worked in a t-shirt.
Tomorrow I will put in 6 more and sow radish, carrot, beet and spinach seeds.
The Earliglow strawberry crowns that have been shipped didn't arrive this afternoon when I got home. Maybe Tuesday.
