Response Genetics, Creditors Reach Financing Deal -- Market Talk

13:19 EDT - A new deal with its creditors helped Response Genetics secure needed bankruptcy financing. Under the deal, reached Friday, unsecured creditors dropped their objection to a $16.25M loan. In return, they get a $325k cut of the proceeds from the sale of Response's cancer diagnostics business. As a result of the deal, a bankruptcy judge on Tuesday granted Response full access to the loan, a portion of which was already available to it. Response is headed to the auction block at month's end with a $14M cash and stock offer from Cancer Genetics (CGIX) to kick off the bidding. ([e-mail]; @PalankJ)
