About AIMing Leaps: I had the same idea — AIM low volatility stocks like MSFT via long term Leaps years ago. An in fact it worked well with MSFT and I got out before they expired. If I recall correctly I was using deep in the money calls recommended by Lenny Dykstra. Then I used the technique on one of the paper stocks recommended by Dykstra and it blew up on me. The stock dropped and never recovered within the leap period and it wiped out most of my gains from before using this method and I never tried it again.
