DNI Metals has no reason to negotiate with Cougar at this point. DNI is moving ahead to start mining. Dan Weir has implied in interviews that he is more interested in starting production than drilling for samples to "prove" what is obvious by just digging a trench across the property. Unless I missed something, the Marofody project is permitted (PE) with all requirements met and ready to be mined. Cougar does not have (nor anyone else) a claim against the Marofody project. IMO, a producing mine is worth more that a company with just a resource study based on drill samples.

Madagascar is moving ahead to develop their mining industry. There is money to be made. IMO The port will be upgraded, licenses/permits will be issued, studies approved, local complaints/issues will be resolved, mining will commence, etc... DNI will be part of it.

Just to compare, I own stock in a mining company that is moving ahead (along with the government support) despite that a large portion of the population is protesting their plans to mine in the area.

I am now not as concerned about the Cougar situation. I appreciate the debate on this board.
