Luis Proetta, CEO
Gibraltar born of Gibraltarian (UK) and Spanish parents, Luis Proetta Gonzalez is a life-long educator. His determination and motivation to not only succeed, but also to excel in his chosen educational career results from being diagnosed with dyslexia as a child. Having graduated with distinction from London University's St. Mary's Teacher Training College, Luis taught at the Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School in Greenford, London and the Bishop Fitzgerald School in Gibraltar. When the border between Gibraltar and Spain was closed in 1969, and with limited career development opportunities available to him in Gibraltar, Luis moved to Spain and in 1971 opened Calpe International College - one of the very first international schools in Southern Spain, and one of the first also to be recognized as offering the English National Curriculum, in conjunction with the obligatory elements of the Spanish curriculum. As owner and principal teacher, Luis gained distinction for pioneering educational excellence, particularly for those children with learning difficulties. Luis retired from full-time teaching in 2004 passing the reins of the management of the school to his son.
Dr. Michael Brown, VP Communications
Dr. Brown is an internationally known expert in the fields of personal and business communications and has served as an Officer and Board Member of several profit and non-profit businesses and organizations. A long-time advocate of nutritional health, Dr. Brown was the Founding Director of Training of one of the largest Wholistic Health and Psychological Training Institutes in the U.S., and has studied and worked with some of America’s most notable mind/body health experts, including Norman Cousins, Dr. Milton H. Erickson, Dr. Carl Simonton, Dr. Bernie Seigel, and Dr. Paula Davey. His many interests include holistic medicine, the psychological and emotional components of health and wellness, and the roles of nutrition, exercise and natural remedies in physical, emotional, and mental health. He is also an author and lecturer whose books have been translated into seven languages, and he has trained and lectured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe for more than three decades. Dr. Brown oversees the company's internal and external communications and communicates regularly with shareholders and the public regarding the company's evolution, activities, events, and other noteworthy items.
