Credit Suisse did not close their doors. They shut down one of their ETN's...and they made money doing it, never doubt that. Lastly, that particular ETN product did exactly that the prospectus said it would, and Credit Suisse did what the prospectus said they'd do. No surprises there. Do I feel bad for all the people who got burned? Absolutely! However, they knew or should have known the risks inherent in their trading strategy.
