After studying the possibilities either way I don't see a problem unless something other than Spectre/Meltdown...I gather this is what you are indicating involving HDC or any company for that manner. I have 3 machine here and only 1 with the "possibility" of a reboot problem. It is the 6700K btw and have been working with this subject off and on for about 8 hours so far simply because any file updates, bios and or hardware coupled in a network can cause and re-create BS depending on how much freedom you delicate to each computer.

In general this is a big deal that has shock waves even when controlled/mastered later. My take on this was to have started back in June 20017 and if it weren't for you I may have let this possible problem bounce around all this year.

Networks can be backed up but with the possible in the hardware mixes becomes a crappier problem to deal with. As you know with lager corporations we are talking big time maintenance and a wondering thought and decisions on future contracts and purchase.

With HDC I see very little problem and just maybe a PLUS...meaning all the more reason existing and future hardware may very well need better hardware and of course SVM algorithms etc however, other than crazy a$$ hijacking of computer information and computers who is to say this wasn't purposely design to push for new hardware and help generate another high end push to the economy. I know the people I taught DOS to years ago are administrators and they just shake their heads at the cost and monies to keep Microsoft software. They felt my buddy Bill Gate has held everyone hostage. My self I just say Bill go for it you made the economy boom as to computer/software in the super late 80's and the 90's was something else. There are many other proven operating systems but where the push and shove is at is where things will always be.

So again Intel is just pushing and pushing and as you know it is hard to just throw away a massive product line and yes that were very quite about it and if it wasn't for Google who knows just how long before we were to focus on these issues. We are moving faster and faster in this world as the pace speeds in Nanoseconds.

The Intel patent issue? I still believe Intel supersized that patent but I hope not as need some type of break besides being broken all the time.

If I didn't touch on your thoughts let me know? I can't see the forest for the tree these days or however that goes? :)
