Regarding MMEX's rudimentary Phase I topping unit, as I've freely provided factual information on the topic at least a half dozen times prior, here it is again, excerpted from MMEX's TCEQ permit application, a topping unit that can only produce ATB, AGO, and LGO:

Anyone competent in the field can directly interpret this process schematic, and immediately understand the issues and flaws.

Only those with no background in refining would believe that the proposed Phase I unit has any intrinsic value, stand-alone or otherwise. Having been in the sector for more than 40 years, with direct experience in design, operation, and funding of these systems, I can tell you that MMEX has no (as in zero) clue.

ATB requires cracking, which the Phase I system lacks.

AGO requires de-sulpurization, side-column distillation, stabilization, and cetane boosting before it can be used.

LGO requires hydro-refining, stabilization (depropanizing and debutanizing) and side column distillation before it can be used.

There are numerous other missing key, and critical elements.

I've presented the facts multiple times, in many posts. Ignore them at your own peril.

Rudimentary crude topping unit is Phase 1 as I understand it and Phase 2 completes the rest of the refinery. Your opinion that it is of no significant value shows a lack of understanding of the operation of a refinery. Please show proof for your assumptions as they lack significant value and do not add to the DD and research presentations on the MMEX board.
