You might be interested in this interview by Mark Marron on his WTF podcast of John Hammond, the Blues Hall of Fame musician, and son of the ginfamous Columbia Record exec of the same name who signed such musicians as Billie Holliday, Count Basie, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen...etc.

Imo, its a great and really interesting interview. Hammond...super easy going guy...played with or was friends with everybody. And I mean everybody....was friends with Howlin Wolf and other blues greats....friends with Dylan and the Band, he actually introduced the Band to Dylan, played with all the early guys from the seventies..Bonnie and Delany, Clapton, Winwood...........Clapton and Jimi Hendrix played in his band for a week at a club in NYC before Hendrix 'got big',.....just an fantastic interview, many many many cool stories.
