Yes! I look at compensation in context of return on investment. If year after year there is a negative. Return the the compensation is too high and the benefits, stock options, warrants, stocks, and salaries all become an a piggyback for employees and shareholders get nothing. Compensation should be merit based but often the scale becomes "the greater the company loss the greater the compensation.
