"Samruk-Kazyna" prepares IPO of Kazakhtelecom in 2018

Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Rakhmetov announced the possibility of an initial public offering of the shares of the largest communications company of the country until the end of the first half of the year.

The relevant information was announced by Rakhmetov at a government meeting on January 16, during which a report was heard on the implementation of the privatization program for non-core state assets.

"Special attention is paid to the privatization of seven largest national companies, three of which are already preparing for possible IPO deals," Rakhmetov said. "In particular, the fund is considering the possibility of offering Kazakhtelecom shares until the end of the first half of 2018, and preparations for the Kazatomprom and AirAstana IPO by the fourth quarter of 2018 are also planned," he added.
