"Thanks for flying with us! Your Wi-Fi charges are $1,171."
"A passenger on a Singapore Airlines flight was surprised to find that the charges for using the in-flight Wi-Fi were just a tad higher than expected.
Passenger signed up for a 30MB Internet plan for $28.99 during a flight on Nov. 12. The plan's terms included additional charges for data used beyond 30MB, and in this case the bill totaled $1,171 when he landed — a whopping $1,142 for extra data.
He accessed about 155 web pages, checking email and uploading a PowerPoint presentation. He added that the airline investigated the bill, but is sticking to the full amount."
