everyone needs to stop thinking there is a conspiracy theory underlying everything that happens. It was a computer virus, plain and simple. In fact, in signing the pleading saying that, the attorney is certifying under oath that it is the truth. Further, the fact that there is no electronic filing is irrelevant. The virus likely affected the firm's network and thus likely erased or otherwise affected the lawyer's ability to work on the document - that is, the response was not ready yet because of the virus.
