Sorry dawg, but how do you know the Dell World demo worked? Do you even know what the Dell World demo comprised, and how it was performed?

The demo claimed to show 8,000 concurrent users on the system. Oddly, when the company promoted the system on their web site, they said it would support 100 concurrent users. Care to explain the difference?

Let me explain the difference. Fro someone that was there and spoke to the Sphere tech at the booth, the best was simply a program that replicated a user typing at 40 words per minute. It loaded the CPU only. No read/writes to network, storage or RAM. And lightyears away from what a real user would do.

Again, a simple CPU speed/load test. Heck, it didn't even replicate the load that having Windows operating on the system would require.

By the way, at the same time, Dell released detailed performance specs and test results for their own in house technology called v-Workspace(acquired with the acquisition of Quest) that could deliver a real 5-6,000 users on the same hardware.

And Dell killed the product because they could NOT compete head to head with VMware, Microsoft and Citrix!!
