Beamer, Gelsinger: Intel's is the "right way" to do quad core. Lower cost vs. monolithic solution. 20% greater yields, 10% lower costs. Direct upgrade. Millions of units before competition responds. >50% performance increase over dual core.

Ouch, yet another zinger at AMD.

The classic dilemma: Cost, quality, and time-to-market - Pick any two. Intel has clearly chosen cost and time-to-market. AMD's solution is higher quality, but it just taped out last month.

Kind of like XBox 360 vs. PlayStation 3. PS3 might be the better product, but it's late and expensive.
