This will be interesting...injectables may not be as effective as I originally thought.

Also, there have been a ton of "concerned" counselors who have come out against probuphine, but have been in favor of the injectables. That is presumably because of the strict dispensing requirements of probuphine's REMS. I think these counselor/doctors figured they could administer the injectables themselves and be compensated for it, rather than have to refer it out to a clinic.

However, the FDA will require a REMS for injectables that limits dispensing to settings that have a DATA-waived (Drug Addiction and Treatment Act 2000) prescriber or are DEA registrants, and will require healthcare settings to become certified to dispense the injectables.

In other words, same distribution problems as probuphine.
