KIT-302 / (ENSEDAPINE or CONSENSI) will be the drug of choice for treatment of Hypertension and Osteoarthritis. Based upon what was released in the PR on 10/26/2017, the implications are far greater than any one medical person could realize.

1. As we age, our renal function begins to decline. It starts at age 30-40 and accelerates at age 50-60. It declines 8mm/min per min. on average. Most patients who have Osteoarthritis that require treatment are over age 60 and have reduced renal function. The vast majority of patients with hypertension and Osteoarthritis have impaired renal function. So, any medicine that improves Renal function or does not impair it becomes a drug of choice.

2. Kit302 has a unique synergy of treatment of hypertension and Osteoarthritis. Celebrex is great for the pain and inflammation of Osteoarthritis. However it has a black box warning based upon the fact it causes retention of fluid at the distal tubules in the kidney. This increases the volume in the arteries and results in increased blood pressure, heart attacks and stroke all related to increased blood pressure. This is the exact reason we can not use the most effective treatment of Osteoarthritis which is an NSAIDS (non steroidal anti inflammatory) .

3. Celebrex is the best because its side effect profile as a Cox 2 NSAID protects the stomach lining so there are less ulcers and serious bleeding. It was not used on all cases of Osteoarthritis because it was more expensive than the others like Naproxen.

4. Amlodipine has a side effect in the treatment of hypertension it is edema. Occurs in approximately 10 percent. Amlodipine plus placebo = edema. Kit-302 and amlodipine = No statically increased edema.

5. In the USA we treat Osteoarthritis patients in pain with Opioids. The consequences are an addiction rate of about 8%. Because of the Opioid Crisis of about 140 deaths a day MD’s Are forced to not be able to treat Osteoarthritis patients in pain. Which is the majority. Why? Because government needs someone to blame so total opioids available reduced significantly and doctors under close observation and targeted if they prescribe above a low ceiling.

6. Enter Kit302. Once the drug is on the market for treatment of hypertension and Osteoarthritis, the next step is to do a study for Osteoarthritis and pain reduction showing that KIT302, head to head with the current NSAIDs, has less complications and less risk than Opioids. If Kit302 can be cost effective it will be the drug of choice for ALL Osteoarthritis.

7. Finally, it has the potential to replace all NSAIDS used for over 3-6 months and all NSAIDs in the elderly because of its reduced risk profile of hypertension, stroke, heart attack, and GI (stomach bleeding). I suspect this will be rolled out just before patent runs out because they will have to make the drug much cheaper.

8. So because pain is subjective and blood pressure is not, the best answer is to focus on Osteoarthritis and hypertension. However, doctors will use it off label for pain and over time the huge market begins.
