Pretty much all his other business deals were with companies he already secretly controlled or were so BS that there was no one he was actually doing business with.

Or he could just take the customers' cash and never deliver anything to the customer. The court found him liable for serious fraud the last time he stole his customer's cash (around $90K) like that.
