I believe that there is a difference in happiness and joy....a big difference! Although i think that "true" happiness and joy both come from a personal relationship with Jesus. I think we all know that we can find happiness through much in our daily lives as from family..friends...even material things. We all know what it means to be happy and we all know the things in our life that make us feel happy. Probably thousands of things...circumstances...news...relationships...that make us feel happy. However...i believe the "true" joy we experience in our life is from one source and one source only and that is from God! Yes...a big difference in happiness and joy. Our happiness can have an impact on others...BUT..when people see the joy of the Lord beaming from us...thats a whole different thing! Thats what people see and want. Thats what helps lead others to Christ. Thats what has meaning and purpose to a fallen world. So, while it is a beautiful thing to be happy let me say this. When we find and experience the joy of God in our lives and we let that joy shine unto the world. Thats what has a lasting impression on others and thats what Jesus wants us to experience in our relationship with Him. Happiness can make us feel good for a time and happiness can come and go with our mood and circumstances but joy through a personal relationship with Jesus is not only lasting...joy in the Lord is what brings us thru every circumstance no matter how bad or negative it may seem. The joy of the Lord is the gladness of heart that comes from knowing God, abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Let the world know us by our joy and we will light a path in the darkness for many to come to know Jesus as Lord!
