All gifted, purchased, compensational etc. of public issued stock have a holding periods. Zion is a fully reporting company which would give them a six month holding period. Whomever the shares were gifted to would have to present the proper paperwork to the Transfer Agent (TA) after the said holding period expires in order for those shares to convert into actual free trading shares. Only downside to gifted shares, non purchased, is that they hold an extremely high tax bracket, which is paid after such shares are liquidated. So eventually these 50,000 shares will find their way into the marketplace, which the average daily volume can sustain but only an inexperienced trader would attempt to sell the whole block at once.
