L2 shows you all of the non-AON bids and asks (wont show covered bids/asks example im on .02 and you are on .021, yours would show vs mine (you covered my bid) using the same MM (market maker) (common MM's are NITE,CDEL,CANT,ETRF,CSTI,MAXM ect.... common dilutors are the V brothers -VNDM, VFIN, and sometimes BMIC) This is a MUST if you trade pennies to save help you not lose money. I wont trade without it. I do not like to loose money, but if you have to take a loss it is sure nice to know where you can get out.. using L2... If you use TD Ameritrade they give you free L2 for pennies... Look into it..
