Otherwise, they're no better than any other of the thousands of dumbass scams folks fall for every day, and much less effective than most.

It's not their longevity that counts, but how much money they take for themselves. Tons of microcap scams that lasted a few years where the founders grabbed a lot more cash in a much shorter time.
