We are all fighting demons of our past. If not for past mistakes could have been a millionaire.

I first started investing in 1987 and lost 50% in 1987 crash and stayed away for a long time and then tiptoed back in. I got wiped out quite a bit again in 2000 crash because I had LT options and stupid stocks.

Again in 2007-08 crash. It was not as bad because I had large portion in cash.

Since than I have become more of a covered call weekly option trader. Try to keep 50% cash for opportunity.
