I am 63 and have spent 40 plus years building businesses...and there is one thing that has not changed in all those years when it comes to business...In their embryonic stages businesses do not have to be profitable for their share prices to go up...they have to project an enormous amount of opportunity for their share prices to go up and with that opportunity comes the profit...

People need to realize that they are not working for money...they are working to to a great job and the end result of that great job is the money...

Companies like SNAPCHAT are still learning and building their foundation... with that solid foundation will come the long lasting profit...long lasting profit never comes before the structure of a successful business...

Companies do not have to be profitable for their stock prices to go up at this stage...imo...
