Well, TAUG would not have been in this situation if not for Cowan and Herzog's actions. So the trial is right around the corner and all should be made whole.
Obviously, given the above "pure speculation", there seems to be no defensible rationale related to Seth Shaw's benevolent giveaway of TAUG's meager cash, including a 50% BONUS to the note holder! On the surface it doesn't make sense!

What is the underlying undisclosed reason for the "pay-off"?
