Now my recollections from the annual meet regarding the Aegis fixed motor....

We've already been told that the Aegis fixed motor prototype is expected to be ready in August for customer evaluation. However, and anyone correct me if I'm misinformed, Dick said that they're going to show the prototype to nine (9) different potential customers, rather than just one. He said they should know in short order if the motor will be embraced -- I recollect him first saying within 6 months, but immediately amending that to by or before December. Of course these are his expectations.

Dick said the efficiency of the Aegis motor will be equal to or slightly better than what's currently on the market. The real advantage will be its lower cost (which he stressed as the primary selling feature), and of course, its small form factor and quieter operation. Dick said the applications that the motor are designed for include off-road vehicles, energy storage and conservation, manufacturing and wind power.

Dick rejected the possibility of manufacturing the motor in-house (too great a capital requirement), but instead to license to either multiple OEMs or just a single OEM (giving it monopoly control). Sounds like he's got a classic prisoner's dilemma on his hands, and he's the cop!
