Yeah, it was awesome timing, especially because although they were closed, they also ran an attached restaurant and I was able to get the tire ordered. I still had to wait the night for it to come about six hours by bus from Winnipeg, but it obviously could have been far worse.
As a sidenote, it was that event that showed me my then 14-year-old daughter was grown up. I had two guys help me load my sports car onto the towing trailer a day earlier. It was tough because the undercarriage was so low. It was a challenge explaining to them what had to be done.
My daughter didn't need a single word of instruction. I did something on one side, she did it on the other, ad occasionally in advance of me.
