Here is the script but the photos are missing. I think the other way is the better way to see it. I can't help but remark that they do seem to want to "turn another page" and rectify the past negative happenings but only TWT about that. It is quite lengthy so keep scrolling. Tlsmd

MegaCon Orlando 2017 – Wrap-Up

We now sit a week after MegaCon Orlando 2017, and the whirlwind events that surrounded it have now had time to settle in my thoughts. In many ways, it was a very cathartic event, and one I feel will have great significance in the history of Red Giant. It truly cemented for us that we are indeed now on the right path.

For those who don’t know, MegaCon Orlando has grown to become one of the largest comic book and pop culture conventions. And while it has been in the hometown for Red Giant, we had never really had a booth. Typically, David and I would simply take the time to visit old friends from the business, see what is new, take our kids, and have fun. We are, after all, still fans of this business that we love so dearly.

Two things changed, however, for us this year… a new direction and new show management.

In the past, we had never really gone to fan conventions for Red Giant beyond San Diego Comic-Con because with the Giant-Size line, our goal was to provide free comics which would invariably find fans. Conventions can be incredibly exhausting and time-consuming events, with little direct financial payoff for our then-business model. Now with the advent of Absolute Comics Group, however, this dynamic has changed great. We now are going a more traditional route in many ways, and that means interacting with the fans on a local level to help build a paying audience. Further, we need to reach established and budding artists and creators to expand our line. That means going to comic cons more often!

Also, we had heard that MegaCon was under new management and there was a lot of good industry buzz about this. A company called Fan Expo HQ out of Canada had taken over the reins of the event. A quick email to them and we were instantly well received and treated exceedingly well. Over the years I have attended and exhibited at a large number of shows, and I can say that the level of professionalism, courtesy, and support given by the staff was beyond compare. Based on their work, I can say I would be proud to be part of any show that they conduct for as long as they’ll have us.

Mind you, I mean this as no disrespect to the previous management of MegaCon. It was a fine show to attend, but beyond that, I had no frame of reference. I can say that this year seemed to be the biggest one I had been to.

Arriving at our table, I could not have been more pleased. They situated us in one of the main aisles, right near the front doors to the north entrance! We were also wedged between the celebrity signing areas and the “Back to the Future” DeLoreans with a curtain between both sides. This meant people coming down this main aisle would not be distracted and could see us right away.

In short, our booth was busy nearly non-stop. I can count the lulls on all four days of the event on one hand with fingers left to spare. What was especially gratifying was not just the new readers we were able to acquire, but the established fans who would visit to talk to us about the impact our work had on them.

For instance, one gentleman was quick to tell me about how much he enjoyed Typhon, a dragon character from Wayward Legends. He went so far as to let me know he plans to have the character made into a rather large tattoo! This floored me. Someone likes my creation enough to use the real estate of his own body to permanently display the character for the rest of his life! And this type of fan encounter occurred more than once across the table.

Another goal for the show was taking the time to break away and talk to the other creators about joining our “creators” line for Absolute Comics Group. To say we were met with enthusiasm would be an understatement. There will likely be several projects to come from this show alone, and if nothing else had occurred, that would have been a big win.

In keeping with that theme, on Saturday, David and I hosted a panel to discuss the topic of “Breaking into Comics the Digital Way.” When the good folks at Fan Expo HQ asked if we would be willing to do a panel, it was the topic I felt we could do that perhaps would be unique and maybe appeal to a few people. To be honest, I went up to the panel area a little early to see if we had anyone even there at all. Dave and I half expected maybe a handful at best. So, I was understandably shocked when I saw not one, but three massive lines outside the doors waiting to get in.

When I asked the girl at the front of the line if this was the right topic, she quickly told me it was and the, “back of the lines are over there…” Needless to say, I chuckled that she was here to see me but thanked her all the same.

Thus, David and I were able to give what we felt was a practical step-by-step hour-long discussion on the ins and outs of breaking into comics as a creator in the digital age… as well as a look back at how things used to be when he and I started out decades ago for DC and Marvel respectively. We concluded the discussions not only explaining that Powfolio would be a great venue for these budding young talents, but revealing Absolute Comics’ creators line as an option as well.

We sincerely hope to hear what fruit, if any, comes from the seeds we planted. But judging by the dozens of young creative talent that stopped us outside and came by our booth, I think it’s safe to say we were helpful at the very least.

All in all, MegaCon Orlando 2017 exceeded our expectations. It was an amazing experience and we couldn’t have asked for a better kickoff to this new chapter for our company. We are reinvigorated and ready to tackle the future… onward and upward!

Questions and Answers – Part 2
As promised, here are the Q&As compiled from those you sent in. Some top line questions were answered previously, so we skipped many that were already answered. We tried to answer all of the questions, including those that required speculation. Some, however, are too close to ongoing negotiations, development, or required far too much speculation to be able to answer… so not everything could be addressed. Still, we feel this should be a clearer picture of where we are and where we are going:

Q: When will a new CEO and CFO be appointed?
A: We can only say that we have promising candidates and an offer has been officially tendered to our top pick. Both sides are in negotiations at the moment, and this is something we greatly look forward to.

Q: Can you elaborate on what can be expected with the Absolute Comics Group project and when it will all happen in an appreciable manner?
A: We are well underway with the imprint as evidenced by the recent releases. It was a major component and reason for being part of MegaCon Orlando. Conventions will also play a big role in the promotion and content acquisition of this and all of our platforms such as Powfolio.

Q: Will Absolute Comics Group be tied in anyway with Powfolio?
A: As we stated in the release, we will include Absolute in all of our channels. Digital, Web, print, and subscription box.

Q: Where will the money come from to fund the Absolute Comics Group Project and any other future projects going forward?
A: Part of the costs were included in the financing, some of the assets already existed, other costs will be covered by sales, and some of the creators will cover their own costs as part of their deals.

Q: Will Red Giant be taking advantage soon with its far-reaching agreement signed back in September of 2015 with Herohelix and Chris Moujaes for film and television animation representation?
A: Yes we have several projects we are developing for this. More as it develops.

Q: Are any sizable partnerships on the table for the future?
A: Without speculating on the future, we can state that yes partnerships are in ongoing negotiations on multiple fronts.

Q: Is a reverse split officially off the table?
A: We are not doing a reverse split now. Again we cannot speculate on what the future holds, but such decisions will be made with regard to the board and with new management involvement in such a way as to best benefit shareholders and the company.

Q: What does the future hold for Zwagbox?
A: We will be relaunching it shortly as the issues that plagued it are being addressed. We are bringing on established personnel in the field to supervise and manage as well. It is a major component of our distribution for publishing.

Q: Will Zwagbox subscriptions that did not request refund pick up where they left off?
A: Everyone will be given the opportunity to continue or get a refund. We have an outreach program we are planning to handle retention, reacquisition as well as new customer development.

Q: What are your plans if any to reduce the share structure in a way that doesn’t hurt shareholders?
A: We of course cannot speculate on what the future holds. A large portion of this depends on the market itself and the board, along with new management, will react accordingly. Remember that we are shareholders as well.

Q: What does the future hold for Powfolio?
A: In addition to adding many new publishers in the future, there are amazing plans for Powfolio development as well. There are plans for expansion that are incredibly innovative.

Q: Will Red Giant be attending this years 2017 ComicCon and will they be in the Keenspot Booth as usual?
A: For financial reasons we will not be at the Keenspot booth. We have been offered our second booth location from last year, and are weighing whether to attend. For all of our other conventions, they are at little-to-no-cost for us to participate. SDCC has traditionally been very expensive. No final commitment has been made. The winners for the ZWAG BOX however will still be honored.

Q: Is the Giant-Size Line officially a thing of the past and gone for good now?
A: No good ideas ever fully die, and we still feel it is a good idea. It is still something we may wish to pursue with proper monetization and support if agreed upon by new management.

Q: Is there still a Toys-R-Us affiliation?
A: We are very much still on good terms with them and if we can come up with a way to work together that makes sense for both companies the door remains open. There have been discussions but we cannot comment beyond that.

Q: Do investors have anything to look forward to for 2017 that can be disclosed at this time?
A: The launch of Absolute Comics Group will be one we can definitely disclose at this time with more developments to come.

Q: Will there be any more financing through notes going forward?
A: Again, while we cannot speculate on the future, there are currently no plans. We have not taken out new notes since 2015, and have made every attempt to stay away from them to date.

Q: Has Red Giant Entertainment officially now been converted from a Nevada to a Florida entity?
A: Yes.

Q: How do you plan on restoring the greatly diminished faith that’s been lost with Red Giant’s investors and fans?
A: We can only accomplish this through actions.

Q: What is the likelihood of actually using Hemp Paper in future printing for Red Giant and when could it actually begin?
A: We feel very strongly about this and think that there may be a small-scale method of rolling this initiative out in the short-term. Long term, this really should be a major solution for us and the industry as a whole.

Q: Why do you guys mention the legal issues with regard to hemp? Industrial hemp is legal.
A: This is a far more complex issue than that. Industrial hemp is legal in some states, however, many of these states still have specific bans on hemp paper. Further, interstate commerce laws can further cloud the issue as products might not be legal in crossing borders. Distribution is further an issue, as our distribution is not just national, but international. Lastly, there is some question as to the Federal involvement should profits be made and deposited into a bank. All of these issues and many others are being explored with expert legal counsel in these areas. While we are eager to lead the charge in this area, we want to do so carefully, without risking the company or exposing us, our creators, our investors or our distribution partners to liabilities or prosecution.

Q: Can you assure us that you will keep your promises on everything that you say to investors and fans going forward?
A: We have never attempted to deceive or mislead. While we can certainly own up to having made mistakes in the past, it was never with malice that what we said we wanted to do failed to materialize. Many events beyond our control contrived to work against our best intentions. We hope we have learned from this, and that is why we took the time to re-evaluate, build up new strategies and infrastructure, and move forward carefully and cautiously.

Q: How many more conventions do you plan to attend for the remainder of 2017?
A: We are evaluation this now. This will depend on location, size of the convention, minimizing costs and maximizing potential for marketing, promotion and impact.

Q: Is your attorney, Russell Weigel, still on board? What about Campiti, Crosby, Robbins, Fischbach, Schoof, and Powell?
A: Yes. All board members are still involved as we stated in the previous QA. The only departures have been our separation from our previous auditors as we disclosed.

Q: Is it safe to say you will be communicating more moving forward?
A: Absolutely. That is why we created the corporate blog. Expect to hear from us consistently moving forward.

Q: Is David Campiti leading the Absolute Comics Group alone?
A: Yes he is leading a large sector of Absolute, but he is not alone. Benny Powell will have an editorial role for the “core” group, currently planned as part of Absolute Comics Group. There will be some overlap, but there are three distinct sectors. These initiatives, however, will be under the supervision of new management for their development moving forward.

Q: You assembled some great writers in the past, will you still have access to them?
A: Yes. We have a lot of work already in the can by these amazing talents, and with both time and budgets permitting we want to continue working with them and many others. It is our goal for Absolute Comics Group to become a creative haven and powerhouse in the entertainment community.

Q: When are we going to see financials?
A: As stated previously, we are working on this right now with our new auditor and are anxious to become current as well.

Q: When will we see profits?
A: Again, we cannot speculate on the future. We can state that we are returning to our core product that was profitable before to build a solid cornerstone with which to expand. Obviously being profitable is our goal.

Look for more in the days and weeks ahead as we will continue keeping you informed as we move forward.

Red Giant’s Absolute Comics Group Label Announces Wayward Legends, a New Value Monthly Comic Book Series
Orlando, FL, May 24, 2017 — Red Giant Entertainment Inc. (REDG), an innovative Intellectual Property company specializing in high quality characters and content for use in a variety of media and entertainment, today announced that the launch of Absolute Comics Group will include the value-priced $1.99 monthly title WAYWARD LEGENDS.

“With WAYWARD LEGENDS and its spin-offs being the cornerstone of Absolute Comics Group’s company-owned ‘CORE’ universe, we wanted an inexpensive, easy, entry point for new readers and collectors,” said series creator, Benny Powell.

WAYWARD LEGENDS will include stories originally published online as the massively popular WAYWARD SONS: LEGENDS webcomic. Although twenty-five issues, or more than two years’ worth of material, were completed, it has never been printed in comic book format before. The webcomic will be taken offline, making the $1.99 print comic and the Powfolio comics reading app the only venues it can be found.

The LEGENDS series centers on two groups of diverse warring aliens who crash-landed on earth over five thousand years ago. The war between them would inspire every myth, legend and fairy tale in human history. It also serves as the source for the spin-off modern title, WAYWARD SONS, which revolves around the half-human children of these beings. Additionally, LEGENDS will tie into numerous other Absolute Comics titles as well, forming the center glue that binds the “Core” Absolute Comics universe.

“Comics went from a dime to twelve cents in around 1962. That’s roughly a dollar in today’s money,” said David Campiti, COO of Red Giant. “The $1.99 price point makes great sense for today’s comics — printed on high-quality paper with more pages of stories and art than you’d get in a comic back then. It’s less than half of what the big guys are charging for their core titles.”

Questions and Answers – Part 1
As we stated last week, we are well aware many people have questions given our silence up until now. We will answer many of these questions with new information on June 1 in a release, but some questions being posed we want to go ahead and answer now to get them out of the way. So, let’s dive in, in no particular order:

Q: Are you really searching for a new CEO? If so, how is that going?
A: Yes. In fact, we have identified a couple highly-qualified candidates. To clarify what we are looking for, we feel we need a CEO who has experience and proven success in the worlds of finance, the entertainment industry, and especially understands the intricacies needed for the running of a publicly traded company. This is a tall order, and of course has taken time.

Q: Is the board still involved?
A: Yes. We have had no change in our board members.

Q: What happened to ZwagBox
A: ZwagBox is currently on hold for the next few months while we get things sorted. We cannot yet go into details on exactly what happened, but we will in the future. Suffice it to say, the vast majority of customers were refunded and/or initiated chargebacks which we did not dispute and actually encourage. Due to a major issue we had with our previous provider, data on everyone has not been readily available to us, which has slowed down any process on that. Once everything has been cleared up, we will relaunch with a campaign that we feel will please everyone. It is very much a part of our distribution platform plans for Absolute Comics Group.

Q: What happened to the Markiplier Comic?
A: It is completed and will be a part of the relaunch of ZwagBox and the launch of Absolute Comics Group.

Q: Why are you wasting money on so many PRs right now?
A: First off, we are being cash conscious and not paying for PRs but using PR.com, which simply requires us to submit two days in advance. The main reason we are doing PRs, is because we have news and are moving forward.

Q: Why are you spending money on conventions?
A: Other than SDCC, we do not spend money on conventions typically… we are usually guests at these events. With us now entering the comic publishing arena full steam, these events will become a vital and important component for reaching both our audience, and new creators.

Q: What is going on with your filing status?
A: We are working with a new audit firm and derivative accounting firm now and expect to be caught up shortly.

Q: Any update on convertible debt?
A: There is no new convertible debt and hasn’t been in a year and a half. There are only a few remaining with most of them for only small amounts.

Q: What is the Northbridge suit and what does it mean?
A: This is a 3a10 and is part of the restructuring plans we have. This is removing debt and most importantly, helping us to get current. The way a 3a10 works is through structured payments to owed vendors that can take up to a year to disburse. Shares are only issued based upon then current prices at a discount to market when the disbursements are sent.

Q: How are we to believe you are launching Absolute Comics Group comics?
A: Easily. We have six months to a year or more worth of material for many of our titles in a ready-to-print status. This covers both our “creator” and “core” lines for our in-house titles. Further, many of the outside creators have numerous months’ worth of work in a ready-to-print status as well. The key here is in catalog space. The companies that make publishing work to any degree have a “share of voice” within the catalog worth getting attention from the retailers. This is something we have never worked on because our focus was on the Giant-Size line that did not require that type of exposure to work. Shifting our focus means we now need to occupy significant space within the order catalogs – a feat we can manage. Orders from the retailers are in a non-returnable fashion, and as such we simply print to order and do not overstock. Because our costs are low, this makes it profitable and manageable. It moves us forward.

Q: What about distribution?
A: We will not only do the standard comic book distribution, but collected volumes into what are called “graphic novels” or “trade paperbacks” will be sold through stores. These components are already in place. And of course, our digital and online platforms will further monetize the work and increase our overall visibility. Further, we are working on international and translated editions of our work to broaden the scope and profitability. In short, we are going to maximize the profit from each piece of work to the fullest while increasing eyeballs and audience share.

Q: What is this news about hemp paper all about?
A: One of our goals has always been to push the envelope. In a world where our core audience is faced with the value proposition of choosing between buying a video game or 3-4 flimsy comic books due to a $3.99 starting cover price, comics are going to lose more often than not. It is a high barrier to entry, and we see the need to try to lower that barrier by lowering the price point. This would mean lowering the costs for us and the industry as a whole. Printing costs are one of the biggest components to that cost… which is primarily the cost of the paper itself. We currently have our costs incredibly low by printing in China. However, there is a time delay due to shipping that makes it less than ideal. Domestic printing on pulp paper is too costly despite the local convenience. Hemp paper would solve that. It is cheap, infinitely renewable, good for the environment, and more durable. It simply makes sense. Despite common misconceptions it is not in any way marijuana and industrial hemp should be legal. That is a fight worth facing and one we want to be at the vanguard of.

We hope this answers some of the topline questions we are seeing repeated so that we can drill down even further for the June 1 Q&As. To sum up, nothing we have been working on is dead in the slightest. We are working to eliminate debt, be current in our filings and move toward being in the black once again.

Red Giant Entertainment Eyes Hemp Paper For Comic Book Printing
ORLANDO, FL—May 19, 2017 – Red Giant Entertainment Inc. (REDG), an innovative Intellectual Property company specializing in high quality characters and content for use in a variety of media and entertainment, today announced that it is actively exploring the use of hemp-based paper for the printing of their upcoming Absolute Comics Group line of comic books.

“As many know, I owned a China-based printing company for nearly two decades, but I’ve always had a strong desire to move away from trees as a paper source and find a more cost-effective, sustainable, and American-based solution,” said Benny Powell, current CEO of Red Giant. “Hemp paper has always been the most logical solution, but due to legal issues, it has not been a viable option. Now with legislation in many states changing, like Red Giant itself, the time feels right for hemp to make the biggest comeback in history.”

Before hemp was effectively prohibited in the United States during the 1950s, it had been grown for at least the last 12,000 years for use in textiles and paper. The King James Bible and Gutenberg Bible were written on hemp paper. Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper. The complete works of Mark Twain, Alexander Dumas, Victor Hugo, plus Lewis Carroll’s beloved Alice in Wonderland – all were written on hemp paper!

“Not only is hemp eco-friendly and sustainable, it may provide a lower-cost option than tree-based paper,” said David Campiti, COO of Red Giant. “And lower printing costs for us means lower cover prices on our books, which also means more copies sold… wouldn’t that be nice?”

Hemp paper’s illegal status seems to be a strange case of bad science in government. Hemp is a distinct plant variety of cannabis that is related to marijuana. Due to its relation and similar leaf shape, hemp is frequently confused with marijuana, however, hemp contains virtually no THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. Hemp cannot be used as a drug because it produces virtually no THC (less than 1%), whereas marijuana produces up to 20 % THC.

Because hemp is a fast-growing, thick, fibrous plant, its production provides a clean, infinitely renewable source that can be used to produce cheap, domestic paper for production – while helping reduce deforestation.

Added Powell, “We do not wish to politicize nor promote the use of marijuana in any way. We simply want to offer a great product that is good for the planet and that helps lower the costs to our consumers. If we can help pave the way for others in our industry, perhaps we can broaden the reach of our medium, while helping the planet at the same time.”

Making a Universe – Part 1 “Legends”
“Sometimes legends make reality, and become more useful than the facts.”
? Salman Rushdie

As we recently announced, with the birth of Absolute Comics Group, we will have three distinct “lines” within our publishing schedule. The one at the center will be what we are currently calling our “CORE” line of comics. What makes this an important feature for us is that for the first time, these comics will feature a shared universe.

So, what is a shared universe, exactly? In short, a shared universe is when the characters of various separate titles or works inhabit the same, “universe” as one another, allowing them to cross over, team up, meet, interact, etc. The most popular current example would be what the media are terming the “Avengers” universe in cinema.

This is nothing new in the world of comics or literature. In fact, many early legends featuring multiple gods and heroes meeting are likely examples of early storytellers weaving together disparate characters into one narrative.

In comics, it became common for popular characters to meet and even team up. Superman seemed almost destined to meet Batman, and the Avengers did indeed unite Marvel’s mightiest heroes. And what fan can forget the first time the Thing faced off against the Hulk, or when Spider-Man auditioned to join the Fantastic Four?

We’ve even seen numerous independent comic companies follow suit over the years. The numerous meetings between the Terminator, the Aliens’ xenomorphs and the Predators were often amazing examples spearheaded at Dark Horse. Meanwhile, the comics landscape was impacted heavily by the Valiant universe’s coming into being.

In short, the discovery of a shared universe has often marked some of the best moments in comics history. Rather than limiting, a shared universe can often greatly enhance the world in which the comics dwell. When handled well, it gives readers a shared cornerstone with which they can find commonality between various works, and spawns new readers in the process.

However, it must be said that this is not an endeavor we wished to enter into lightly. At its core, when defining a universe, there should be rules. Thankfully, however, we had a long history already present with which to springboard our fledgling world. We’re talking, of course, about our flagship title, “Wayward Sons: Legends.”

For those unfamiliar, the story of “Wayward Sons: Legends” was that over five thousand years ago, two groups of aliens crash landed on earth and were granted extra-ordinary abilities and seeming immortality from the “star-core crystal” – the very crystal that shunted them across the galaxy and caused their crash in the first place. Through the millennia, these two factions would do battle and the resulting wars between them would give rise to every myth, legend and fairy tale in human history.

As a cornerstone, it provides our shared universe five thousand years of history. It introduces the concepts of aliens, alien technology, superhuman abilities, and various science fiction elements. Having this as our front-runner provides us with a rich tapestry that weaves well into the rest of our “CORE” line, without disturbing them.

More on the rest as we reveal them in the days ahead. Suffice it to say, that we feel blessed to have a strong foundation. For indeed, it is built on the backs of legends!

Red Giant Entertainment Announces New Comic Book Publishing Imprint Absolute Comics Group
ORLANDO, FL—May 15, 2017 – Red Giant Entertainment Inc. (REDG), an innovative Intellectual Property company specializing in high quality characters and content for use in a variety of media and entertainment, today announced the creation of a new revenue-generating comic book publishing wholly-owned sub-imprint, Absolute Comics Group.

“We’re getting back to basics,” stated Benny Powell, current Red Giant CEO. “During the past few years, this company has attempted to do the seemingly impossible, to create entirely new business models from scratch, to go where no company has gone before. Now is the time to return to our roots – creating comics. We’re talking about a more traditional business model – the billion-dollar retail comic book industry – an enterprise we have been successful at before. Now is the time for the Absolute Comics Group.”

The Absolute Comics Group imprint will publish a variety of traditional-format comic book titles, followed by trade paperbacks collecting the issues for those titles. These titles will be distributed through thousands of comic book specialty and book stores worldwide, beginning with the August 2017 Previews order catalog.

The Absolute Comics Group will be comprised of multiple lines:

A “core” line of titles mining the company-owned Intellectual Property that Red Giant has developed and acquired since inception, such as WAYWARD SONS, DARCHON, AMPED, FIRST DEFENSE, DUEL IDENTITY, etc. – with a twist. These core titles will all exist within a “shared universe!”
A line of “creator-owned” titles, offering talented creators, both newcomer and established, an exciting new home for bringing their own universes to life.
A line of licensed titles based on properties from television, movies, video games, and new media to broaden brand awareness.
“With Absolute, we are returning to what we do best — creating comics, creating new characters, worlds and storylines! We have a proven track record of success in this area, and know from our test marketing that the fans are receptive to these creations,” added Powell.

David Campiti, who in 1988 founded a similar comic book company, Innovation Publishing, and took it from startup to North America’s 4th largest comic book publisher by market share in just a few short years on the strength of licensed titles like QUANTUM LEAP, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and LOST IN SPACE, will also be guiding Absolute to success as Red Giant’s COO.

“Absolute Comics Group will feed into all of our platforms,” explained Campiti. “It will provide a boatload of additional content to generate ad revenue through our digital platforms, and it will create exciting new IP for our film/TV division to develop.”

According to industry statistics website Comichron.com, in January the Direct Market for comic books saw its highest January circulation in twenty years, with 7.57 million copies shipped to comic book specialty stores. In 2015, comic sales crossed the $1 billion mark for the first time since the unprecedented comic boom of the early 1990s, the bull market in which some of today’s top publishers such as Image Comics (publishers of THE WALKING DEAD) and Valiant were originally founded.
