When he is done in his low 30's or has terrible knees, and he only plays 125 games every year if your lucky, where the goal is to keep your players that are you best offensive players to at least play 145-150 games, you will see my point. You will also see it as the injuries pile up and he tires at the end of the season. it practically happens to all catchers.

You will never convince me that it is smart to have one of your best offensive players at catcher, anyone who think otherwise is nuts, having say your #3 hitter missing 25% of the games makes no sense, anyone who can really hit, would never stay a catcher for me. granted sanchez has to prove that last year was not a fluke, I believe he will, and he will hit a decent amount to warrant a position change, but a guy like buster posey would not catch for a person like me. he would be my starting 1b, no need to waste him there. he is too good to risk injury or have him wear down in my opinion.

Really my two points were you assuming bird was gonna do way better then carter (it could happen but not sure), and that a catcher you want an offensive guy in that position (I don't if a guy hits like posey I want him nowhere near the catcher position in my opinion), because those were really the two point I was trying to make. hope this helps.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
