May 26-Strong winds were prevalent in the afternoon and grew stronger into the evening. The result was a toppled patio umbrella, a shattered glass table top and on to Plan B. While examining the damage a mockingbird landed next to an artichoke plant and out of sight of CC the Calico Cat. She immediately seized on the opportunity and captured that bird. It must have pecked her enough to cause her to drop and it flew off. Later in the day she caught a skink.

No more planting for a good while, so it was on to weeding and mulching.

I have 44 asparagus seedlings up potted in the greenhouse. I will up pot all of them again before transplanting in the fall into the richest soil I can prepare for them.

I've turned my compost pile. So full of worms. The buses are taking detours due to the NASCAR race so I won't go to Starbucks for coffee grounds until Tuesday.

More pepper plants are fruiting. I noticed a Jalapeno in the bed I made for Ali. No eggplant so far. It's actually a tropical plant needs hot and humid conditions for the flowers to make fruit.

More cucumbers have appeared on the first started plants the project manager bought from Home Depot.

I've included an image of my favorite weeding tool. I bought from a Lowe's big box store on South Blvd a couple years ago. Still holding up.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
