august post of month-Why be so excited? We knew this... (8 Ratings) 30-Aug-06 11:50 pm Geron has partnered with the most appropriate leaders in the fields required, to prove their therapies. The best research houses in the world are beating down their door to partner and create new technology from the firm foundations already established in telomerase biology, inhibition, vaccine development, and they own the workhorses of stem cell biology as well. They are partnered with Merck on the vaccine, and that is moving stunningly well per Okarma.
The AIDS conference must have hatched some serious interest too. Johns Hopkins working on nano deliver vehicle for telomerase RNA. Chinese working on Gerons telomerase activator for HIV. Phase 2 for GRN163L, Phase 2 for GRNVAC1 upcoming. We have discussed critical mass in the past. Could this be that point in time? Has the time come when the short houses start to crack in their negativity? They should be considering it in my humble opinion. They are probably certain that the GRN163L preliminary data will be stunning. Stunning. A *@#@#@! non toxic cancer treatment folks, on that kills cancer stem cells, thus prevents cancers return, and shows synergy with most existing chemo. The prospect of a release of preliminary data is scaring the hell out of them, or it should be.

Okarma for Nature's number one man, it could well be. Targeted non toxic telomerase inhibitor? The strongest immune system response ever seen in a cancer vaccine? Building the foundation and treaments, bringing home the importance of stem cell science? Life extension via telomerase activation? Aids treatment via same? Sure , Okarma could get the vote for Nature 's man of the decade. Why the hell not.

ABC had a good segement on the air tonight, they brought the brightest minds in the free world together to speak out and warn the world, literally, that global warming, climate change, is the number one threat to humaninty, requiring immediate action. So our country's leaders have decided to burn more coal, more oil, and wipe out the rest of the north slope.

Who killed the electric car? Do a google. See the movie. With current battery technology it could travel 350 miles on a charge, and be half charged in 3 hours. The average American drives 29 miles a day. An electric car can go over 100 mph. Should be fast enough. An EV1 out of GM's proving grounds, in the 90's, went 160 mph (governor removed). They are now mostly all shredded, after the california air boards chairman joined a hydrogen fuel cell scheme.
