Question about insider trading...

I was thinking that some smart, opportunistic folks who were ON THE PLANE with the doctor who was removed could have bought puts or shorted this stock immediately after witnessing his brutal removal and anticipating the backlash.

Would this have met the legal definition of insider trading?

If not...

what about the police officers that did the removal? if one of them had placed a similar trade (as soon as they got their hands off the doctor), would THAT have constituted insider trading?
