In my personal opinion i believe financial advisors are at best nothing more than sheep only following the heard and parroting what they hear on main stream media. It keeps their backside covered.
At worst they only push investments that they will reap a kickback from.
Only if its publicised will they follow and recommend it. Or else they would have been retired already.
