A post from last week concerning the Managing Director at Halpern.
<snip>
From bios offered at Halpern's web site, it appears that the more senior telecom analyst from the firm is Tony Tristani. Wonder if Tony is a mentor type for Frank, or if Frank is/was making a name for himself at the firm? Do you think title of Managing Director allows Tony to direct Frank? Has anyone contacted Managing Directory Tony? Maybe a newbie being reeled in here.

Mr. Tristani joined Halpern Capital in October 2002 and brings with him an extensive technical engineering background as well as over 10 years of institutional investment experience on both the sell- and buy-sides of the business. His industry focus at Halpern will include Business Services, Technology Hardware, and Telecommunications. Mr. Tristani’s career highlights include:

• Six years experience on the buy-side as a General Partner and analyst with West Highland Capital, Inc. Responsibilities included idea generation and assisting firm President with general portfolio management of a $500M long/short hedge fund.

• Five years experience as Senior Vice President and technology analyst for Southcoast Capital Corporation where he built a $3M/year technology research franchise. At Southcoast, he was instrumental in bringing in approximately $300M in co-managed investment banking deals. Named Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst for 1995 and 1996 for stock picking ability and earnings estimate accuracy.
